Our Practitioners

Meet Dr. Sammy Oh, AMP, DNM, CBS

Dr. Sammy Oh is a leading pioneer in specific electrophysiological assessment in Alternative Medicine.  Dr. Sammy is a Doctor of Alternative Medicine Practices and also a Board Certified Specialist in Holistic Health Practices, Biofeedback and Stress Management.

Dr. Sammy, having studied worldwide, is a Doctor of Natural Medicine certified by BNMDP (Board of Natural Medicine Doctors and Practitioners).  She has created her Electrophysiological Assessment Methodology by learning advanced clinical methodology in Europe.

Dr. Sammy found her true passion out of her own experience: a long battle with fatigue and undiagnosed illness. After two decades of research, she discovered the answer she had been looking for, an accurate and scientifically valid way to measure and assess what was happening in her body.

With this knowledge, she dramatically improved her own health and the health of her family.

Inspired, Dr. Sammy made it her mission to gain expertise in what she was convinced was the next step in the development of Holistic medical knowledge and treatment. Because it was not available in Canada, Dr. Sammy traveled to Europe to further her education.

Twenty years of research led to Dr. Sammy’s medical philosophy:

What can be measured can be managed. If you don’t know what is wrong, you can’t fix it.

This is the future of wellness.

Everyone has heard of X-ray, EEG, PET, MRI and CT diagnostic scanners.  In Europe and in the U.S.A now, you hear about the BFS (Biofeedback Scan), BES (Body Electric Scan), MSS (Molecular Spectroscopy Scan) and IFS (Interstitial Fluid Scan).  These advanced and sophisticated scanners pre-assess your degree of health to learn what preventative measures may be effective in changing your lifestyle and health. These computerized scanners operate at the level of measurement of cellular division, specific neurotransmitters and interstitial cellular fluid, to produce a detailed, deep, and profoundly accurate picture of your health imbalances and wellness status.

Chris Oh, Registered Acupuncturist, Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, TCMP

Shiatzu Massage Practitioner, Certified Cranial Sacral Therapist, Certified Biofeedback Specialist

I believe in balance.

Balance means that equal attention is given to nutrition, structural alignment, emotional stability, organ efficiency and hormone production.

Diagnosis is not simply defining a medical problem.  Diagnosis must place more importance on assessing broken balances between body systems.  Maintaining balances between body systems is more important than assessing symptoms in a holistic diagnosis.

For example, a headache may originate in the cranium, but usually, headache is triggered by imbalances between body systems.  For example, when nutrition is poor, it affects emotional stability and triggers muscle tension which produces poor spinal alignment.  All these imbalances may trigger chronic headaches.

For twelve years, learning and practicing various medical arts has given me a broad perspective from which to understand body imbalances.  I use multi-disciplinary approaches for assessing patients.  I look for the fundamental cause of disease, to which symptoms are only a guide.

I use the traditional Chinese approach to diagnosis, looking for imbalances in body meridians.  However, contemporary biofeedback training has also given me the ability to use cutting edge technology for the purposes of diagnosis.  The combination of traditional and modern perspectives allows a more complete picture of a patient’s total condition.

I have been interested in holistic medicine since I was very young.  At 21 years of age, I began to have serious back problems for no reason anyone could discover.  Then I injured my back at work.  That was the turning point for me.  I jumped from one chiropractor to another, one acupuncturist to another, one massage therapist to another.  I tried neurofeedback.  I tried biofeedback.  I tried cranial sacral therapy.  I tried conventional medicine.  Nothing worked by itself.  When I began to piece together different kinds of practices from different therapies, I began to improve.  Balance was the key.  Health is always about achieving balances between major body systems including emotional dynamic.

After twenty years of healing pain, including my own, I believe less and less in invasive treatments and drugs with destructive side effects.  The body, with support, will in time, adjust and heal itself.

My methodology focuses on total relaxation, and treatment that is as painless as possible.  When the body is given the correct stimulation, it will seek to heal itself in a natural and lasting way.

Rachel Domingo, Client Care Manager

Rachel Domingo MenesesMind and Body Wellness is an important part of our daily lives now. As a Client Care Manager, I am happy to assist HMC Clients to find that healthy balance in their routine and to coordinate their needs to the practitioners. As the saying goes, “Health is Wealth.” The healthier we are, the more time we have spending it with our family, friends and exploring the world.

I personally like to find that balance by meditating, following a healthy lifestyle, travelling, going to museums and de-stressing as I create calligraphy and painting artworks too. Dr. Sammy has given me a new perspective and learning on how to live a healthy life.
